Before leaving to SXSW, @dmitryzelikman had a great idea: to record the drive and turn the footage into a bad ass time lapse.

So we rigged a Gopro camera to our Chevy’s windshield. What you are watching is over 30hrs, or 3000 miles, of on the road adventure. 

We decided to use all the footage the Gopro captured, including our stop overs for gas, Starbucks for internet and battery power, and even our stop at the Chevy dealership where we recorded Challenge #6.

Combined with an awesome 8bit track.

Challenge 11 / Create Your Own Adventure Using OnStar

At the end of day 3, Chevy asked us to create our own adventure using On Star. We decided to begin by reviewing the time lapse footage that we started filming in Toronto. After all, you can’t know your future if you don’t know your past. 

We then called in to On Star and asked what they would recommend we do in Austin, and Sean from On Star was kind enough to give us some suggestions.

Challenge 10 / Perform a random act of Kindness - using no money!

Half way through the day, we were trying to think of a random act of kindness we could perform. Chevy also asked us to do that without spending any money.

So we were driving down the I30 to Austin, doing our best to brainstorm something “random,” when we noticed that the side of the highway was quite littered. 

Brainstorm over. We got out and cleaned up approximately 100 meter stretch of highway. 

Our way of saying thank you to the people of Texas and the USA for their hospitality.

Small acts of kindness can go along way.

Challenge 9 / Make a Gift for Another Team

As we began the 3rd and final day of our journey, Chevy asked us to create a gift for one of the other teams competing in #chevysxsw using things we find in our car. 

Instead of going the arts and crafts direction like we did with the art work challenge (#4), we decided to take a page out of @motownsxsw’s book and give them the gift of motown music.

Challenge 7

At the end of day 2 we arrived at the Arkansas-Texas border, Chevy asked us to create a song about the state we’re in. 

@seanward wrote this song about the physical state itself, and our mental state as well.

Challenge #8 - ChevySXSW Roadtrip #TeamAutoFollow

As we inched closer to Texas at the end of day 2 of our journey, Chevy asked us to create a top 5 list to share some of the wisdom we picked up on the road less traveled. 

Considering our constant wifi fail, it only seemed appropriate to develop a guide on how to survive without our precious precious internet.
